honey honey

We love honey. It's sweet, it's natural and it's good for you.

To make honey, bees gather sugary nectar from flowers and take it back to the hive, depositing it into honeycomb cells that act as incubators for new bees. But the best bit about all of this honey-making is the way that the bees wriggle about as they enter the hive. The angle at which the bee moves shows the direction towards the flowers it has just come from, relative to the sun. And the amount of wriggling and dancing shows just how good a source of nectar those particular flowers were - the more dancing, the more nectar there is to be had.

health-giving nutrients

Another fine thing about honey is that it contains antioxidants. Recent studies in the USA have shown that honey is as rich as fruit and veg in these health-giving nutrients. Another reason to dance like a bee and rejoice when eating (or drinking) some honey.
